SHANGHAI — Chinese authorities have removed Skype from Chinese app stores, therefore the app is unavailable on all the app stores and this includes Apple’s app store.
Statement from Apple
“The Minister of Public Security notified that a number of VoIP apps do not comply with local law. As a result the administrators removed these apps from the Chinese app store,” an Apple spokeswoman said Tuesday. “These apps are available in the other markets due to different rules.”
